FOZZY Part Ways With Guitarist
August 17, 2004FOZZY, the band featuring vocalist Chris Jericho (of WWE wrestling fame) and former members of STUCK MOJO, have parted way with guitarist Ryan "The Kidd" Mallam. "Ryan 'The Kidd' Mallam has officially let the band know that he will be leaving the band to pursue a full time position as a university swimming coach," reads a tongue-in-cheek posting on the group's web site. "The touring duties required by the band, especially in light of the forthcoming release, would not be compatible with his chosen occupation. He will be sorely missed and we wish him the best in his career.
"In regards to his replacement the band will soon be accepting submissions from interested players who meet the unique requirements of the band and its live performance schedule. The details of the position will be made available here in the very near future.
"Again, we're very sorry to lose such a fantastic player (as you'll hear on the new disc!) and a cool guy. There will always be just one Kidd!"
As previously reported, FOZZY have finished mixing and mastering their third album, "All That Remains", for a fall release through an as-yet-undisclosed label (the band were previously signed to Megaforce Records). Zakk Wylde (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY),Marty Friedman (ex-MEGADETH),Mark Tremonti (ALTER BRIDGE, ex-CREED) and heavyweight rapper Bone Crusher have all recorded guest appearances on the CD, which is the follow-up to 2002's "Happenstance".
